Last week we were invited to the launch night of new bar/restaurant, The Hope. We had a brilliant night and enjoyed lots of lovely food! (The prosecco was pretty yummy too, I did get a little tipsy!)
When Nik and I arrived Roz, Lauren, Laura, Lynsay and her friend were all seated in the corner and had saved a spot for us (we missed the train and had to wait for a taxi in the rain!). They'd already started tucking into the yummy meat and veg platters on the table but there was plenty left for us to try. The hummus and olives were delicious too!
The decor was a mix of traditional and modern, I loved the jelly-fish-like lights at the back of the room.
There was also a very differing mixture of art with a traditional style mural around the ceiling and modern prints on the walls.
We also tried tasters of prawn cocktail (nice), chicken teriyaki (we all agreed it tasted more like bland chicken & gravy), mini burgers (very tasty but needed sauce), chicken burgers (super spicy) and pulled pork (delish!).
Nik thoroughly enjoyed the beer, Heverlee...
And we all loved the desserts; cheesecake (nice & light), sticky toffee pudding (a little dry but tasty), profiteroles (lovely!), chocolate fudge cake (AMAZING!), strawberries & ice-cream (very nice).
As you can see, we enjoyed them all!
I had a brilliant night at The Hope, I really enjoyed the venue, food and the company and can definitely see myself returning here for a proper meal.

And Roz was a big fan of the industrial style hanging lights...
