I'm trying to catch up on posts about events we managed to attend in December and Uckfield's Late Night Shopping evening is always a highlight. I attended this year solo with the twins so only have phone photos to share but as usual we had a lot of fun and loved the local festive atmosphere.
If you don't know Uckfield, every year on the first Friday in December, we have the late night shopping event where most of the businesses stay open late and the High Street is closed off. There's Hog Roast, wood-fired pizza, entertainers, stalls, fire engines, singing, live music, school choirs on the Uckfield FM stage, free mulled wine in Waitrose, Carvills and at the Uckfield WI Belles stall.
As a member of the Belles, we use our stall every year to raise money for Demelza and one other charity, this year being the Uckfield Food Bank. We sell baked goods and this year also had hand made crafts as well including these cute gnomes made by member Chris. I bought the twins some biscuits and myself a gnome for our little shelves in the living room which I turn Christmassy ever year.
I always enjoy the hog roast crackling and this year the twins and I shared a yummy fresh pizza too.
It's such a fun evening wandering around with most of Uckfield! We were constantly bumping into people we know, it's always such a cheerful event with loads going on.
