Day 2 in Kuala Lumpur - Sushi in the park

On our second day in KL, we had a quick tour of the Suria Mall at the base of the Petronas Towers.

There was a free art exhibition on where we spotted a painting we both loved.  There were no prices so I don't think they were for sale but if we lived there like Clare, I think we'd have been very keen to find out!

I also found this gorgeous ombre necklace in a fabulous accessory shop in the mall, Lovisa.  (Not one of the many, many designer shops.)

Lovisa Ombre Green Necklace

They had a necklace exactly the same as the silver one I got in Dorothy Perkins -
I was very tempted to get it in gold as well as they don't sell that here.

I couldn't wait to show Nik the sushi counter in the Isetan supermarket.  It's so cheap, fresh and delicious!  RM1.50 is about 30p per piece of sushi, mainly nigiri and gunkan.

We piled the pick n mix sushi into the boxes, grabbed some sashimi packs, soy, wasabi and chopsticks and headed into KLCC park to find a shady spot to enjoy it.

The gorgeous fountains in KLCC park

Amazing tuna sashimi

Scallop sashimi, surprisingly nice

Flying fish roe gunkan

My favourite - a yummy tuna, salmon, cucumber and crab stick roll

Even the water fountain has an actual fountain

Checking out the towers

After lunch, we went to Dome to meet Bella & Fiachra for a drink.  I was gasping for a Mango Fandango - possibly the best named and most delicious, creamy smoothie ever!  Dad loves them too!

 Iced coffee and Mango Fandango

Macadamia caramel cheesecake - soooo good I forgot to take a pic before I munched some!
We went back to Isetan for more sushi and Bella was super excited to discover Unagi (eel) from that episode of friends where Ross thinks Unagi is a state of mind.

Unfortunately we never got to enjoy the sushi in the park again and experience Fiachra's reaction after convincing him to try some.  Bella had a nasty fall on a wet patch of ground and badly hurt her ankle and foot.  We had to send her back to the hotel in a taxi :(  Happily, she's all better and managed to continue on her travels and is now back in the UK after 4 months of travelling!  Lucky duck!

Nik and I got organised back at the hotel and headed off on a very busy monorail at rush hour to head back to the airport to meet Mum & Dad!  :)

Oh it is seriously good (and cheap) sushi! One of the things I rave about the most from Malaysia!

It's such a good hat for £3/4 isn't it Ashleigh!?
