My boy LOVES the moon. We've known about his love for the moon pretty much since he could talk. He gets so excited when he sees the moon, be it in real life or a book or on TV. "I see the mooooon!"
So when I saw these 3D printed moon lamps, I knew I had to get him one for Christmas. The lamp we've been using as a night light has been scratched and now looks quite tatty. This is the perfect replacement and I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought of this exact photo opportunity when I bought it ;)
I'm actually amazed it came out pretty much as I imagined! I love it and I'm so glad I caught his awed expression as I handed it to him all lit up last night. This photo is number 4 in a new project I've started for 2018. I'm attempting a 365 project and although I've failed at keeping up my #necklace365 (I will restart that again one day!) I'm hoping I'll manage to keep going at this one and push myself creatively. So far, it's working but then, we're only on day 4! For me it's an exercise in thinking more intentionally about what and when I photograph as well as forcing me to be less click happy as I simply won't have time to take and edit dozens of photos looking for that perfect one. I will have to hone my skills and be more confident in what I'm setting out to achieve.
So, fingers crossed and I'd love it if you'd like to follow along with me. You can find my 365 photos on my bexphoto Facebook page or on my bexphoto Instagram. I will post summaries on this and the bexphoto blog from time to time as well (most likely monthly to keep me on track and so I can see any progress) but I'll be posting every day on FB and IG so do please check them out and encourage me to do this :D
I'm linking up with Darren's Photalife My Sunday Photo again.
Incidentally, since a few people have asked, if you're interested in the moon lamp you can find them here.
I did a lot of research in finding the largest size at the best price. It can be two different colours, a proper white moon glow (which I prefer it on) and a warmer orangey cast, they can be dimmed and have a very small touch switch and come with a stand as well. There's a cable to charge them but they stand alone and look amazing when lit up! If you're after a smaller, cheaper one, they also come in 8cm moon lamp size which would nestle nicely in the palm of your hand and look really cute, I'm quite tempted to get one of those for different photo ideas too! I've just followed you on IG - looking forward to seeing your Project365 photos!
How gorgeous, and I love the intense look of pleasure on his face. #Project365
Welcome to 365 and what a fabulous photo! Love that you say you're going to think carefully about what you photograph - I thin I'm the complete opposite! I'm on my fifth year of 365 and never feature recognisable photos of my kids on the blog, so there's an awful lot of random crap, mixed in with the occasional good photo, but it sums up our lives and helps me remember what we've done and that's what it's all about!
Oh wow, that is a beautiful photo. I've never heard of a moon lamp before, it's great. Another idea on the list of possible gifts for my niece! #365
I rarely think about what pictures i post, i just capture what interests me and post it. I love how your son looks like he can see something his side of the moon lamp that we can't see from our side #mysundayphoto
