Cocktail Recipes

We enjoyed quite a few home-made cocktails over the Christmas, birthday and New Year period.  Here are some of the recipes for what you may have seen us enjoying on my social media, they're all very simple short drinks and super quick to make.  Apologies for the poor photos, I was too busy enjoying the day to bother with the big camera so these are all phone snaps ;)

A good old gin martini

Also, just to be clear, we didn't drink these all in one day and of course we recommend drinking responsibly.

Warming Winter Cocktail
(adapted from Winter Aviation in Waitrose magazine)

40ml Hortus Gin
10ml Chambord
Juice of 1 clementine
Dash of Angostura Bitters
Cocktail cherry, to serve

Shake all ingredients well over ice, strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a cherry.

Orange Gin Martini

10ml Cointreau
40ml Gin
Clementine zest, twisted, to garnish

Shake over ice and strain into a stem glass, garnish with clementine zest to serve.

Hibiscus Daquiri

30mls Bacardi
10mls lime juice
10mls Hibiscus syrup
1 Hibiscus flower to garnish
(flowers in syrup can bought at Lakeland, they're delicious!)

Shake all ingredients over ice, strain into a martini glass and garnish with Hibiscus flower.

Flat White Martini

50 ml Baileys
25ml Espresso
25ml Vodka

Shake all ingredients over ice, strain into a martini glass and float 3 coffee beans on the top to serve.

Pornstar Martinis (makes 2)

80mls Passoa
80mls vodka
Pulp of one passionfruit, plus another, halved, to float
Juice of one lime

Prosecco, served in a shot glass alongside

Add all ingredients, except prosecco, to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.  Shake vigorously and strain into a martini glass.  Float the passionfruit half in the top and serve with the shot glass of prosecco.
