It's that miserable time of year, Christmas is over, there are no more parties and the weather sucks. We're all back at work/school and I need things to look forward to! I'm trying to plan some fun weekends and looking forward to some other exciting adventures we have coming up this year. After discovering the ultimate fun of a family festival last year, we're booked to attend no less than three this year already! After our first (and second and third) family festival last year, we're really excited to be discovering more this year.
A new one for us will be Woodlands Festival which is in June at Elm Wood, near Hawkhurst in Kent. It's still not too far away so we'll be close enough if we do need to abandon camping with the kids and come home but fingers crossed it all goes as well as the Medieval Festival last year!
This festival looks like another amazing extravaganza of family activities, colourful fun and music. This video of last year's highlights below looks amazing and I'm in love with that rainbow bunting above!
Woodlands Festival is in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society & Macmillan Cancer Support to raise money & awareness which makes me love it even more! It's on 8th,9th & 10th of June and has all the usual festival fun - live music stages, they're "providing a platform for the unsigned to play alongside seasoned professionals, with both plugged & unplugged performances throughout the weekend."
They've got options for camping or glamping too so you can choose to go the full on luxury route or get into the proper camping vibe with your own tent. There's even a spa for some extra luxury while you're there!
For the kids "there will be a range of arts & craft, along with woodland activities including treasure hunts, storytelling & bush craft adventures, as well as the Fabularium Forest Disco. Face painting & fancy dress play a big part in the festival experience for the little ones & grown-ups alike. Or if you prefer, you can rug up in front of the giant screen at the outdoor cinema, with vintage style pick n mix, hot chocolate or a cocktail..." I can't wait to get into the Woodland’s spirit!
Tickets are available here.
Weekend Family tickets (2 adults + 2 children 4-17yrs) are £285
Under 3s are £5 for a weekend with camping so it works out cheaper to buy two adult tickets at £98 each plus a tenner for two toddlers if you're like us.
Day tickets cost £65-£135 for a family ticket depending on which day, individual adults are £22-£45.
There are other options and you can see all ticket information on the Woodlands Festival website.
Doesn't it look fab? Will we see you there?? Watch this space for a ticket giveaway later this year!
