Mother's Day Brunch at Wilderness Woods - review

Last year for Mother's Day Nik booked the special Mother's Day Brunch deal at Wilderness Woods.  It was so good, we decided to do the same thing this year and I've only just realised I never actually got around to blogging about it last year so I might share a couple of nostalgic photos from that visit at the bottom too.

This year we were treated to the same menu options.  It's a busy day for them so we had a specific time slot and set menu so it all runs smoothly.  Nik and I opted for the same as last year, each ordering one of the two options and then sharing them so we got to enjoy the smoked salmon & scrambled egg on an English muffin plus the sweet and indulgent bacon & maple syrup on waffles.

A lovely touch this year was when they come to "borrow" our children and took them over to a table of potted flowers for them to write a label and choose a coloured Polyanthus for their Mum.

After the main course, we received a plate of blueberry cakes and flapjacks with mini versions for the kids (K was rather impatient for his hence being missing from the following photo).

We were well and truly stuffed by the end of all of the yummy coffee and tasty treats.  We had a brief play outside but it was super slippery in the mud with the miserable weather so we headed home soon after.

Last year was a much sunnier affair and we had a lovely walk around the woods after brunch, as you can see I can't resist a syrup pouring shot!
