Fuego Lounge brunch review

A few weeks ago I was having a really tough time and my lovely friend Hemina seemed to instinctively know what I needed and came round to bake with me and the kids on Saturday and invited us all out for brunch on Sunday.  It was lovely and really took my mind off everything!

Nik's breakfast complete with homemade sausage patty.

Brunch was at Fuego Lounge in Lewes which was lovely, Kalyan was especially excited by the big breakfast I ordered, of course he spotted the pancake syrup immediately!

The homemade beans are SO delicious and we all enjoyed a bit of pancake as they had a huge pile!  The kids had some of each of mine and Nik's and we ordered an extra dish to share.

We all chose something quite different and all enjoyed our meals with the exception of the avocado on toast, the one we ordered to share.  It was supposed to have coriander and chilli - sort of Mexican style but it was full of parsley and had no kick at all, we're not sure if they got mixed up with the herbs or changed it on purpose but we didn't enjoy that one, I actually hate parsley even on fish!

Other than that, the food and drinks were excellent.  Service was a bit hit or miss but they were very busy.

Priya was full of attitude as usual, throwing Badri a hell of a look before eyeing up his wife's plate!  He had to keep his eyes on his own plate though as he had his own potential food thief to worry about!  ;)

It's obviously a dog friendly place which is why Hemina suggested it, the atmosphere is relaxed and informal with quirky modern decor like the colourful painted tables.  They also have a shelf of toys which came in handy once the kids finished eating and started to get bored!

I've been here a few times now, it's a great casual place with plenty on offer, most of which is tasty.  It's a great place to hang out and I'd love to go one evening to sample their cocktail menu.
