We were seated on the upper deck of the pop up restaurant and had great views up Buchanan Street. The seating area was funky with bright coloured chairs and paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling. We had the yummy sounding menu explained to us, we were going to sample a sharing platter and could pick a free drink each. I went with the Prosecco after it was recommended by one of the lovely staff, it was perfectly dry and crisp.
Here's the menu detailing what we were going to munch on our sharing platter, sounds good no??
Our sharing platter arrived and it look fantastic! We are big fans of meat, cheese, olives etc. and quite happily started munching on the food as soon as it arrived.
The food was delicious. It was a perfect lunch to eat in the sunshine, lots of bits of everything! The portion size was very generous, there's pretty much a whole block of mozzarella hiding under the rocket and the staff brought us extra olive bread to mop up our houmous.
One of our favourite items on the platter were the peppadews stuffed with cream cheese, they certainly were truly irresistible as the menu stated! We will definitely be heading along to the Co-op to buy some of these soon :)
They also had a competition running where if you tweeted a picture with the table props and the hashtag #TweetforaBeach you could win a holiday for two adults to Turkey :)
On Friday I headed along for a free lunch (who said there was no such thing?!) outside in St Enoch Square thanks to twitter! Well actually the food was thanks to Tweet for a Table and the Co-operative Group but I only heard about it thanks to twitter. They were in Glasgow serving free food and drinks all day, all you had to do to win a table was follow them on twitter and tweet the date and time you wanted to head along and how many people it was for (max of 4).
They are touring the UK at the moment, check their twitter feed for where they are going to be over the next few weeks but I know they are in Leeds this Thursday and Friday and intend to visit many other cities across the UK including Manchester and London. I took B along, as Bex is in Malaysia and none of my work mates fancied a free lunch, eh fools! The weather in Glasgow has been glorious for the past few weeks and I was really looking forward to an al fresco lunch to kick start my weekend :)
