Whilst Bex was off holidaying in South Korea, I went along to the opening of Munro's on Great Western Road in Glasgow. We had been invited to the official opening night by the lovely ladies at Dada but as Bex couldn't make it I took B along instead. He was most upset at the thought of trying out a new pub (which is very close to our new house) and drinking free beer!
I really liked the pub, it was a very cold night and one of my bug bears is having to keep your jacket on inside when places are too cold, by Munro's was lovely and warm with plenty of seats, a mixture of booths near the front, bar stools and comfy couches round a fire place.
The bar area was large and showed off their craft beer selection. I really like the option of 'beer flights', something we saw a lot travelling around Oz last year, where you could order 3 x one third pints to try all the different ones for £4.25. I prefer to drink wine but will have the occasional beer when the sun is out so enjoyed tasting the different beers on the night.
When we first arrived, the pub already smelled amazing and we could see lots of people sitting munching mezze platters and it wasn't long until one of the waitresses brought one over for us to share.
Then the hot food came out, including burgers (very good!) and hot dogs which I didn't try.
B and I went along to the event with Lauren - who wrote her own review of the night here - and kindly drove us to the event so we could have a drink or two, thanks mate! The pub was very busy for most of the night but we managed to meet up with with Wendy from Thankfifi and her husband who was also appreciating the free beer :)

It's fair to say the booze was flowing all night and we had a great time, perhaps even leaving a bit tipsy if the photo below is anything to go by!
I'm looking forward to going back to Munro's and perhaps trying out their coffee and cake offer, at £2.50 what's not to love?!

Hey Roz, enjoying your blogs. I like the sound of the real ale. You must get Bex to take us there on our next Glasgow visit. Graham & Lyndsey
Thanks! Yes Munro's would be a great place to go on your next visit :)
